Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a "lost asset" or "unclaimed money"?
This could refer to any number of things. For example, an old check that was made payable to you but never cashed, or an old bank account you forgot about. It could also refer to your grand-parents' stock portfolio that they forgot to tell you about before they passed away.
  • What happens to these assets or this "unclaimed money"?
After a certain amount of time, the law requires the "holder" of the asset (for example: the company who wrote you the check which you never cashed, or the bank where you had to the account you forgot about) to send the money to the Government for safe keeping. In order to get the funds back, you have to follow a process through the Government agency which is holding the funds.
  • What does Access Asset Recovery do?
Our company is normally referred to in the industry as either an "investigator" or a "finder." Our job is to scour Government records for these lost/unclaimed assets, and get the money back into the hands of its rightful owner. That owner could be an individual, a company, or an heir to someone who has passed away. In return, we earn a small commission as our fee. We never charge you any money up front, and if we fail to recover your money, you owe us nothing!
  • Do I have to use Access Asset Recovery? Can't I do this myself?
No, you do not need to use our company to recover your old assets or money; you can do it by yourself. However, the process can be quite difficult and tedious, and for a small fee, we can make sure you get your money back faster and more securely than you would on your own. Our process is fully transparent, and we will protect your privacy from start to finish.
  • Is there a time limit before I lose the right to claim my money?
It depends on where your money is being held. Most states will hold the money indefinitely until a claimant comes forward. However, some county offices in the United States will keep the money for themselves after 3 years - so it's important to get your claim filed quickly!
  • What is the process of recovering my money? What forms do I need?
We work with dozens of states and counties across the nation. Depending on where your assets or money are being held, the process can vary. Normally you will have to fill out some forms and provide proof that the items you are claiming actually belong to you. If you are claiming assets which belonged to a parent or grand-parent (and you are their rightful heir) you will also need to show proof of that.
  • How do I know this is not a scam?
We have helped dozens of claimants and recovered already hundreds of thousands of dollars. Many of those claimants initially thought this was a scam too (it's not every day someone tells you that you have some money waiting for you!). Our company is registered with the State of California as a licensed "investigator" which is authorized to place claims on behalf of claimants. We can also provide references and testimonials from other people and companies that we have helped throughout the world!
  • Do you maintain a database of "unclaimed money"?
We have a service called Unclaimed-Money.org which periodically publishes lists of unclaimed money and assets. These lists are generated from various data sources - but are not necessarily accurate.

If you have any more questions about our company our our process, feel free to contact us.
